To send and receive emails, and to access the Internet, you'll need an Internet Service Provider.  There are many options, ranging from free to costly, with speed in proportion to the price.  Prices are shown for reference purposes, and may change at any time.

 

Dial-up (requires only your telephone line)

  • Suffolk County Public Libraries (free, but ending December 31, 2007)

  • PeoplcPC ($5.47 for 3 months, $10.95 thereafter)

  • AOL (Basic Dial-Up plan:  unlimited dial-up access for just $9.95)

DSL (uses your telephone line, but allows phone calls at the same time)
